Soft Rubber Toy Animal 1955 LION

In 1955 my family took a train ride from Los Angeles to Cleveland, to visit relatives. To keep me (then age 5) amused during the trip, my mother let me "find" a bunch of these animals on my seat, one every few hours. It worked very well, and I treasured these little friends for many years.

This toy animal is a lion of soft tan rubber, with painted details. About 1.5 inches tall. Picture at left shows side view. It is a little dirty after all these years, with slight surface pitting; but otherwise in good condition. No brand name or other markings.
